The Eiffelturm is probably one of the most famous sights in the world. It is a location of excellent viewing platforms, museums and restaurants. For the convenience of the visitors the tower was equipped with the beautiful elevators. A total of five elevators are available to visitors. The first lifts were opened more than 110 years ago. According to statistics, about 6 million tourists visit the Eiffel Tower annually. Such number of visitors are thus transported by the five historical elevators annually.

The first elevators for the tower were designed in 1899, by the company Fives-Lill. Each of the five elevators of the tower is unique and has the secrets. The oldest elevator of the tower is located in its eastern support. It can carry up to 46 people uniquely and travels at speeds of 2 m / s. Until 1986, the old elevator operated with a hydraulic system. After the new equipment, the interesting museum was opened in the hydraulic department.

In the western support of the tower is also a historical elevator, which is currently closed due to the reconstruction. After the reconstruction, the elevator will transport up to 150 people uniquely. According to the approximate calculations, the modernization of the elevator costs about 25 million euros. The central elevator is the most famous and ensures the direct connection between all floors. By 1983 the central lift had to be closed for the winter period. After the recent reconstruction, the tourists can also use it in winter.
