Broadway is the longest street of this city. It stretches along the entire island and this is the location of a myriad of various shops, shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, theaters and much more. Wall Street is the main business street of the city, where are gathered the buildings of the stock exchange, banks and other famous financial organizations the U.S. Manhattan is famous for its tremendously high skyscrapers. The first prototype of the modern skyscrapers was built in the beginning of the XX century. This was a triangular iron house located on Madison Square.
St. Paul Church is the oldest sight of the city. The building starts its history in 1766 is decorated in the Gregorian style. Such famous buildings as the Gray-Sea Mansion, Church of the Holy Trinity and several Greek revival style buildings created in the beginning of the XIX century have survived till our days and are very popular among tourists. The main tourist sites include the gallery of the American Bible Society, Carnegie Hall; the Museum of American Crafts, which demonstrates expositions and exhibitions devoted to contemporary crafts, sewing, architecture and construction ceramics, jewelry, rugs, handmade paper, copyright dress, and knitted goods. Don’t forget to visit the greatest engineering sight - the Brooklyn Bridge and such interesting places as the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and other historic sites like the museum of September 11 that was organized 9 years ago.
