A couple of words should be said about other local theme parks. Thus, Universal Orlando Resort is famous for its Harry Potter theme area, and not only fans of the saga like it here. This is the second largest amusement park after Disney World (which includes the already mentioned Magic Kingdom). The Holy Land Experience, a unique biblical theme park, is also located in the city. Among its locations are the ancient Jerusalem market, the Jewish village, Calvary, the Temple Mount. This is one of the places where you can not only have fun but also learn a lot of interesting facts about the origin of Judaism and Christianity. Orlando's two most popular water parks are also located in theme parks. Aquatica can be found in Sea World, and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is in Disney World.
Gatorland Theme Park also known as "The Alligator Capital of the World" offers not only attractions (including a rope course) but also a zoo with a thousand crocodiles and alligators, as well as other reptiles. They also hold amazing reptile shows here. The park is noteworthy in that all the animals in its zoo are not caught intentionally but saved: they buy reptiles from hunters who would kill them for meat or skin. Movie buffs will probably find it interesting that "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was filmed here in 1984. All theme parks host colorful events, including tourists' favorite ones: Halloween, Fat Tuesday, Harry Potter Weekend (at Universal Orlando Resort), Christmas and New Year.
