Hawaiian archipelago consists of 162 scenic islands, but only seven of which are currently man mastered. Hawaii Island is the largest island of the archipelago. This is where the main natural attraction, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park , is situated. There is a historic Parker Ranch , which is now converted into an interesting historical museum. Strolling along the eastern coast of the island, you can see the famous Captain Cook Monument . According to the legend, the famous explorer has given his life there in 1779. The town of Kailua-Kona can boast one of the most interesting landmarks, the ancient Hulihee Palace. Its construction has been completed in 1838. It has originally belonged to Governor John Kuakini, and after a long time it was being the main residence of the royal family.
