Detroit is also forever associated with the automotive industry: Ford, Chrysler, General Motors - these are all the companies that brought glory to the city and made it the "automobile capital of the United States". Abandoned buildings give Detroit a certain romance. Their largest number is concentrated in Midtown, so it's worth visiting if you're a fan of this kind of places.
