Cultural Center La Prensa is simply impossible to leave without attention. The ground floor of the building has been turned into Golden Hall, which is an exact replica of Versailles palace hall. The roof is decorated with a huge bronze statue of a man with a book and a torch in his hand – this statue has become a symbol of a free press. Republic Square is the location of a famous obelisk - the highest monument of its kind in South America. The height of the obelisk estimates 67 meters. The opening of such an interesting memorial complex took place in 1936, when Buenos Aires celebrated its 400th birthday. Monument was erected in just 4 weeks. This is also the so-called record.
A walk to the French Quarter will leave only great pleasure. Here you will find first-class theaters, fashionable restaurants and art galleries. Among the architectural monuments that are worth visiting we should mention famous church Iglesia del Pilar. Near the cathedral is also located an old cemetery, which has become a kind of an architectural landmark.
