The city hosts two festivals devoted to dancing. One of them, International Belek Salsa Festival, is held at the end of May and is dedicated to salsa, and the second one, Oriental dreams held in mid-February, is focused on oriental dances. The first festival is held at Adora Resort Hotel and gathers all lovers of the passionate dance under one roof. You can attend the event for free, the program includes both master classes and performances. Oriental Dreams taking place in Spice Hotel & Spa offers a fitness tour, master classes, competitions, photo shoots, and concerts.
In late September, Bellis Deluxe Hotel hosts a festival called the Sports Wave. Football, volleyball, tennis matches, afterparties, as well as music performances, are held as part of the event, which is attended by celebrity sports stars. A special entertainment program including master classes and interesting quests is prepared for children here. Immediately after the festival, in the middle of October, a sporting event of a global scale starts - Ironman.
The most significant Muslim holiday is, of course, the holy month of Ramadan. However, its end is celebrated even more vividly. The celebration lasting 3 non-working days is called Şeker Bayramı. During this time, it is customary to set a rich table, on which there should be many sweets (traditional treats - Rahat-lukum, Baklava, all kinds of candies). Local residents visit their friends or leave the city to visit relatives in other towns. For this reason, sometimes there are problems with public transport; bars and nightclubs may also stop working.
