Monastir, Tunis: Family Car Rental
The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Tunis traditionally include the following vehicles: Audi A4, VW Passat, Renault Scenic, Honda Accord, Peugeot 508, Audi A3 and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Monastir borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Monastir might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Monastir!

Driving Advices for Tunis – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Right driving is adopted in Tunisia, and all kinds of roads have strict speed limits. In the city, the maximum allowed speed should be no more than 50 km/h, in the country the speed limit is 90 km/h, and on highways the speed limit estimates 110 km/h. Special speed limits are adopted on the island of Djerba, where drivers are not allowed to drive faster than 70 km/h.
If you need to pass a roundabout, you should remember that cars that move in the circle always have the priority. In some cities, the circular movement is organized in quite an unusual way - a straight section of the road can be a part of the roundabout.
In spite of the fact that according to local traffic regulations motorists must give way to pedestrians, vehicles are still considered “superior” on Tunisia roads. They almost never stop even at pedestrian crossings equipped with traffic lights, not to mention non-regulated road parts.

The most significant religious attraction of the city is the Great Mosque. It was built over a thousand years ago. Over the years, the mosque has been repeatedly rebuilt. Now it is a beautiful architectural monument with arches and columns. In the mosque, there is a large courtyard and a spacious hall for prayers, in which it does not get hot even at the height of a hot day. The entrance to the mosque is accessible only to adherents of the Muslim faith, and everyone else is offered to admire the historical monument from the adjacent territory.
The Ribam Fortress located on the coast is the largest and oldest in North Africa. It was built in the 8th century and initially occupied a very small area. With each century, the scale of the defensive structure became more extensive. Now the area of the fortress is more than 4,000 square meters. Many famous warriors are buried on its territory, and several religious shrines are in the fortress. In the fortress, there is a prayer room, next to which is now equipped with a small museum of Islamic art.

A very interesting cultural center is the Museum of Traditional Costume. The main part of its exposition consists of national clothes, which were relevant at the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries. In addition to clothing, in the museum there are collections of luxury jewelry, precious stones and products from the finest locally produced silk, which is known for its unique qualities.
