Airport location, terminals and transportation
Stockholm Bromma Airport was founded in 1936. It is located just 8 kilometres from the centre of Stockholm. Though the airport operates a single runway, it handles rather large passenger traffic, which amounts to 1.8 million people per year. It was the first airport to have a paved runway from the start. After the other airport (Stockholm Arlanda Airport) had been put into operation, Stockholm Bromma Airport started focusing on business flights, general purpose flights, governmental flights, as well as flight training. In connection with the noise exposure problem, the airport has limited operating hours. Thus, it is open from Monday to Friday, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.; on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Buses number 110 and 152 go in the direction of Stockholm's city centre. You can get to other airports by Flygbussarna airport coaches with a change in Stockholm (Cityterminalen) to the Arlanda Express (running to Stockholm Arlanda Airport), or to the bus going to Stockholm Skavsta Airport. At Stockholm Bromma Airport, taxi stands can be found near the terminal. Alternatively, a taxi can be booked in advance, together with airline tickets. Besides, such companies as Car2go and DriveNow provide their car sharing services here.
Rental offices, how to find them, where to return car
Several major car rental companies provide their services at Stockholm Bromma Airport. These are Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, and Mabi. There are direct telephone lines to the car rental offices in the passenger terminal. Cars are collected from and returned to special parking spaces for the rental cars at the airport. If the driver wishes to return the car to another location, it should be agreed upon when concluding a rental agreement. The desks of the vehicle rental agencies are positioned at the exit from the baggage claim hall, beside the exit from the terminal building.
There is age restriction. The drivers aged between 18 and 24 years must pay an additional tax of 25% and make a deposit. Only credit (not debit) cards are accepted for payment. A certain sum of money defined by the firm is frozen on your card for the rental time in case the car is damaged or stolen. One must pay several types of insurance. Supplementary equipment and services are not included in the base rental cost and paid separately. In order to register a rental agreement you will be required to present your driver's license, the identity car with a photo, and the printed advance reservation voucher.
Long-term and short-term parking, hotels nearby
Both short-term and long-term parking lots are placed next to the terminal. A free shuttle runs to and from the long-term parking lot four times an hour. The short-term parking is meant for picking up and dropping off passengers. You may park your car here for no longer than an hour. Parking spaces for people with reduced mobility as well as the spaces for parking and charging electric cars are available. Parking pass programs are available to the regular customers of the airport.
The number of hotels is set beside BMA. These are the Best Western Plus, the Brommavik Hotell, the Kontorshotell, the Flyghotellet, the Scandic Hotel, the Scandic Alvik, and the Ulfsunda slott.
