Street kiosks often order one more popular and unusual dish called Tunnbrodsrulle. It is a thin bread roll with mashed potatoes and a small fried sausage. Such small rolls are very handy and comfortable to eat on the go. Small kiosks in Gothenburg also offer some very original food, for example, shrimps with all kinds of sauces and interesting vegetable salads.

Local people are big fans of coffee. They even have a special tradition of making a break in order to enjoy a cup of coffee and a bun. Having visited one of the local coffee shops during the daytime, don’t forget to try fragrant cinnamon buns. When it is Christmas time, a special pastry appears in the city – buns with saffron and cardamom. Perhaps, Gustavus Adolphus pastry is the most unusual dessert that tourists can find in Gothenburg. This is an original cake named after the founder of the city. Nowadays, virtually all local cafes offer this popular dessert.
