One of the most attractive places for walking is the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, located within the historic district. Around the square are many beautiful historic buildings. Here, you can see the building of the Central post office, as well as the Municipality and the Trade Hall building. The Municipality building was erected in the 18th century and is considered one of the most beautiful architectural monuments in the garden. Hundreds of years later, on the facade of this building, figured arches and bas-reliefs have been preserved, which can be admired endlessly. On the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, interesting entertaining events are often held. It is particularly interesting to stroll along it on the day of one of the national holidays.
Not far from the Cathedral is another interesting religious monument – the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia. For locals, this Church is the most significant, because it houses the image of Holy Mary the intercessor - the patroness of the city. The statue of the Saint is considered miraculous and is associated with a lot of surprising stories.
For those who wish to admire the most beautiful monument of architecture, it is worthwhile to include in the itinerary a visit to the Palace of the Marques DOS Aguas. This building is in Baroque style and impresses with the skillful decoration of its facade, on which hundreds of years later, stucco and lovely balconies have been preserved. Today this beautiful Palace houses the National Museum of Ceramics and Decorative Arts, some exhibits of which date back to the 16th century. The beautiful Palace is decorated with unique antique furniture and works of art.
