Merida - Roadster/Convertible Hire

Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Merida - Train Station'. Address: Citroën Dealer Motor Emeritense, Ctra. Madrid-lisboa, Km 342,700 , Mérida, 06800, Spain.

In Merida, we provide vehicles at 2 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in Spain in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Merida, Spain: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Spain are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Merida require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Spain is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Merida and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Merida, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Spain!

Driving Advices for Spain – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Many roads have special lanes for cyclists. These lanes are separated by special markings. Quite often, in addition to the marking, these lanes are separated by a special rubber lining. Vehicles are prohibited from driving on these lanes.
All toll roads in Spain have a special lane marking - PEAJE. Parts of roads with tunnels are usually the most expensive. For example, a ride through the Cadí tunnel will cost about 12 euro.
Highway payment points can be located either at the entrance or at the exit. In the latter case, when entering the toll road, drivers should take a special ticket and keep it until the end of the ride. When leaving the toll road, this ticket is used to pay for the ride. As a rule, payments both by a credit card and in cash are accepted.

Merida is a unique city from historical and cultural points of view. In Roman times, one of the largest and richest cities was located on its territory, and some of its monuments have been preserved to this day. Now they are recognized as a world historical heritage. Such a rich history of the city could not but affect the cultural traditions of its inhabitants. The inimitable festival Emérita Lúdica dedicated to the traditions of Ancient Rome is held in Merida every year.

It was first held about ten years ago and has been organized annually in the first half of June since then. The event dedicated to ancient culture lasts 8 days and is visited by more and more foreign guests every year. Entertainment events are attended by professional historians and archaeologists, artists and designers, as well as local folk groups. For several days, guests of Merida plunge into the amazing atmosphere of ancient times, fascinating tours of iconic historical sites are held for them.

An important part of the festival is a traditional fashion show whose participants wear splendid costumes of ancient times. Among the ruins of the ancient amphitheater, gladiatorial fights and theatrical performances are staged, solemn marches of legionaries pass through the streets. Many local hotels and restaurants take an active part in the festival, creating special interiors in a historical style.
