Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is the main one in Madrid. It is located 14 km away from the historic centre of the city. The airport was established in 1928. It was renamed in honour of Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez in 2014. The modern structure of the airport comprises 4 terminals and 4 runways. Terminal 4, which was opened in 2006, broke world records for square footage. The airport services more than 46 million people every year.

You can always get to the city from the airport by means of the Pink Line of underground number 8 (stations in Terminals 2 and 4), which runs to Terminal 4. The electric train (line C 1) goes through Terminal 4, 2 railway stations, the bus station and other stations. There are daily (route L203) and night (route N27) buses. Buses number 200 and 101 drive from Terminals 1, 2 and 4 to the city centre. Outside all the terminals (the arrival and departure area), you can order an official taxi or transfer.
