The old castle of Alcazaba is known as one of the main historical attractions of Granada. The castle is located just a short walk from Plaza de los Alhibes. The large-scale architectural complex was built back in the 13th century during the reign of Mohammed I. Unfortunately, only think fortification walls and several towers have survived from the original building. The height of one of the towers is 26 meters. Its top is equipped with a large observation deck, from which visitors can enjoy splendid panoramic views of the city.
Arabic Wall is a no less interesting architectural attraction of the city. The line of walls, which have survived till our days in a great state, starts not far away from Triunfo Square. The walls are decorated with skillful painting and stone carving, which fully convey the splendor of culture of first settlers of the city, who lived here in the 9th century. The above-mentioned area is also the location of another very interesting excursion object - Puerta de Elvira Gate, the construction of which was completed in the 9th century.
Vacationers should definitely not forget to visit Architect's Garden. Every year this sight attracts hundreds of thousands of travelers. The garden, which is a former residence of the Moorish rulers, was built in the first half of the 14th century. Antique doors are the symbolic entrance to the garden. Right behind the doors you will find the beautiful palace complex of Alhambra. While walking in the territory of the palace, you will find a stunning cypress grove that is called Paseo de los Cipreses. The road will lead you to a picturesque park with its many winding alleys, grottoes, huge flower beds and terraces of extraordinary beauty.
