Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Bucharest - Airport Baneasa'. Address: Bucharest Baneasa Airport , Sos. Bucuresti-Ploiesti Nr 40, Bucuresti, 013695, Romania.

In Bucharest, we provide vehicles at 5 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in Romania in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Bucharest, Romania: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Romania are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet and Audi A3 Convertible.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Bucharest require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Romania is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Bucharest and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Bucharest, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Romania!

Driving Advices for Romania – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
You will need to pay in order to drive on certain roads. In most cases, enters to such roads are equipped with large blue boards with the «RO-VINIETA» mark. In order to get the right to use paid national roads, you must purchase the "vignette". You can buy it for a week, a month, for three months or for a year. The cost in this case will be 3, 7, 15 and 30 euro respectively.
"Vignette" is an ordinary check, and the driver should always keep it. You can purchase the vignette at customs, as well as at Rompetrol, OMV and MOL petrol stations. If previously the "vignette" needed to be attached to the windshield, today its presence is checked automatically. The cameras, installed on roads of the country, simply compare the numbers of cars passing by with the purchased vignettes. If there is no record about your car, you will be issued a fine. The fine for using national roads without the “vignette” is from 60 to 120 euro.
Foreign drivers, who plan to make a ride to Romania on a personal car, should not forget to have two warning triangles, a reflective vest, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher in the car. People, who plan to pass the customs in winter, are recommended to purchase snow chains.

Enjoying sights of Bucharest in cabriolet
In Bucharest, there are places for shopping for every taste. Original specialized stores are especially worth noting. In the very center of the city, a well-known bookstore Cărtureşti is located, in which you can purchase not only books but many more other interesting things. They sell nice photo albums, frames, CDs, and audiobooks. For children, they have a separate department with toys. There is also a large art-space, where master classes and other events are often conducted.
Urbanesc can safely be called one of the most original shops in the city. It is located in a chic old villa. This historic building houses a popular national restaurant and some shopping pavilions. It is a really good place to purchase unusual designer handmade jewelry. Budget customers will be able to choose colorful T-shirts, and a beautiful playground awaits young visitors.

In the old industrial building of Bucharest, whose walls are now adorned with bright graffiti drawings, is located an original La Fabrica store. It offers visitors a variety of stylish modern clothes and nice souvenirs. This store is very popular with frugal tourists due to moderate prices. Besides pavilions, there is a café with a large playground for children. Many come here especially to drink brand strawberry lemonade.
