54. An additional fee is charged for the right to use some highways. The amount of the fee depends on the distance travelled. Highway enters are equipped with special machines that give tickets. Make sure to keep the ticket, because it is used to pay when you leave the highway. Do not lose the ticket or you will have to pay the maximum fee.

57. The maximum allowed speed on highway is up to 130 km/h. On highways, there is also the minimum speed limit, which is 40 km/h. Moving slower than 40 km/h is not permitted. If your vehicle needs repairs, you should stop the car and get help quickly.
58. Foreign drivers are required to pay the fines on the spot. The police will not issue a bill that then needs to be paid in the bank. If the driver is unable to pay the fine on the spot, the police have the right to arrest him.
59. It is prohibited to use studded tires in Poland, while the use of winter tires is voluntary. You should equip wheels with snow chains only if you plan to drive on snow-covered roads.
60. The use and transportation of radar detectors is prohibited. Violators of this rule will have to pay an impressive fine. Regardless of the fact whether the device was used or not, it will be immediately confiscated.
61. All roads in Poland are numbered, and drivers can easily determine the quality of the road judging by its number. The roads with a three-digit number are of the worst quality. They often do not have the asphalt surface. The two-digit number roads will certainly have the asphalt surface and at least two lanes in each direction. High speed highways certainly have the best quality. In addition to digits, such roads have a letter code “A”.
62. There are some quite unusual road signs on Polish roads. It will not be easy for foreign drivers to understand the meaning of some of them. The black-and-orange sign with the inscription «Czarny Punkt» is one of them. As a rule, this sign usually has two numeric values at the bottom. The road sign warns motorists of the dangerous part of the road, and the numerical values are the number of people who died and were injured there.
