Public transport of the city is represented by the net of trams and buses, which can be used for unhampered travelling on Poznan’s territory. Ticket’s price depends on the route’s distance, usually it costs from 0.5 to 1 euro. People who are going to use public transport often can buy the season ticket, which can involve one, two or three days of unlimited travelling.
Tourists who are going to visit Poznan at first time need to visit the Informational center, which is located at the Old Market Square. In this center it is possible to take a city’s map free and know more information about cultural events and book the tickets.
It is important to remember to give tip for the good service in the local restaurants and cafes, to do this you need to add 10% to total sum. In small cafés and budgetary restaurants tip can be about 1-1,5 euros from the person, also it is normal just to approximate total sum to any bigger sum.
Economical travelers need to remember that during various trade fairs and festivals almost all Poznan’s hotels increase their prices. If the current festival is not the high priority for tourists, it will be better to postpone the travel till more favorable period.
As for people who plan a great trip program, it will be better for them to visit Poznan in spring or in summer. From the middle of autumn a lot of parks and gardens are going to close, so the trip program is not wide. But in the Christmas Eve there are great sales in the city, and street markets work.
