The palace was built in the second half of the 19th century for the Goldstein brothers, who owned several sawmills and at that time, were among the wealthiest inhabitants of the city. The beautiful palace in the Neo-Renaissance style initially drew attention with its exquisite decoration. Inside its hall is decorated with elaborate stucco and symbolic sculptures. Many ancient ornaments have been preserved in the palace till now. In the 20th century, the beautiful building was the location of various state institutions.
