There is another picturesque zoo in the city – Parque Animaya. This is an unfathomably beautiful nature reserve whose principle occupants are birds. There are several ponds in the park in which pink flamingos live. You can go on foot or by car along the park’s territory and see its main natural attractions. In addition to birds, you can see wild creatures from other continents here too. Spacious aviaries were equipped for giraffes, camels and hippos.
Those who like to relax with children in beautiful parks will also not be bored in Merida. They should definitely go for a walk in the Parque de Santiago. This is one of the most equipped and well-groomed parks in the city. There are numerous beautiful benches, fountains, stunning sculptures and many more spacious grounds and paths along which kids can run in the park. There are also lots of birds in the recreation center which visitors can feed. In summer, there are often fascinating engaging events in the evenings.
