In the immediate vicinity of the city, there is an interesting archaeological area - the ruins of Roman Andautonia. Once upon a time, there was a thriving Roman city, in which thousands of people lived. Today, contemporaries can only admire the fragments of the once grand buildings. Usually, a tour of this archaeological area covers the surrounding natural attractions.
Wooden chapels of Turopolia are also a permanent symbol of the city; several of them have survived in the vicinity of Goritsa. These miniature chapels were completely built of wood. They were all built in the 17th century. Miraculously, these fragile buildings were preserved in the war years. In some chapels, the decoration remains unchanged even after several hundred years. Each chapel is exceptional and has its own unique features. During the excursion, travelers will be able to see many interesting religious artifacts.
Among the natural attractions worth noting, is the charming Lago Chiche, which is a favorite holiday destination not only for tourists, but also for locals. It is most interesting to stroll along the shores of the lake in the warm season, when the crowns of trees everywhere are green, and the earth is carpeted with soft carpet grass. This charming lake is beautiful at any time of the year. Most of the holidaymakers can be found near it on weekends. Locals come here for a picnic and to enjoy active rest.
