Italians value fast and sports cars not less – there is enough evidence of this. One of them is the holding of the festival in which the best racers on the planet take part. We are talking about the Rallye Internazionale di Sanremo that has a long-won trust (or Rallye dei Fiori, as it was called earlier), which is traditionally held in late February. The auto-competition has a rich history, which started since 1928. In order to see the colorful event, hundreds of tourists visit Sanremo during its holding.
The uniqueness of the race is that it does not take place at the autodrome — the track becomes the mountainous terrain around the city. Starting their way to Sanremo, the race car drivers finish it here by making an impressive hook (the entire car race takes 120 kilometers). Due to this, it is necessary to understand that only true professionals can take part here because participating in the race is risky. Among the cars that racers can ride are not only sports cars, but also cars like FIAT or Peugeot.
Another interesting sporting event awaits guests of the city and locals at the end of March when the Milan – San Remo cycling race (or La Classicissima, as it is often called) takes place. It is worth noting that this is the longest one-day cycling race (the distance is almost 300 kilometers), and also one of the oldest (it was held in 1907 for the first time). All Italy is watching the news at this time, “rooting” for their “favorites”, and for professional cyclists to get on a holiday La Classicissima is a big dream.
