Rome, Italy: Hatchback Rental
The most popular models representing the mini, compact, and economy car segments in Rome are: Peugeot 107, Toyota Aygo, Hyundai Atos, Mini Classic, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent and others.

When hiring a budget hatchback, it is definitely worth saving on insurance deposit (franchise). Deposits on small cars in Italy vary from 100 to 1.000 euro/dollars. Check the rental conditions of each car in your selection to find a vehicle with a minimum deposit.

If your routes in Italy are foreseen to pass through hilly areas or mountains, it is not recommended to consider very small cars for rental. Their engines are usually insufficient for a confident driving on the roads with long or steep climbs.

At the rental office in Rome, consider to take a 'Breakdown Assistance' package or ask an officer for a contact data to use in case of a vehicle breakdown. Cheap cars are sometimes unpredictable in operation.

Upon receipt of the rental invoice, please check that all the information, as well as the final payment amount do match the data in your voucher.

Driving Advices for Italy – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Despite the fact that local drivers are quite temperamental and sometimes very impatient, there are no rude people on the roads of Italy. It is not common to shout out of the windows and express own displeasure in an aggressive form. Local drivers will surely not tolerate such a behavior from foreigners.
Anti-fog lights can be turned on only when the visibility on the road is less than 50 meters. Otherwise, you can be issued rather a big fine.
Even if you increase speed on those parts of roads that are not equipped with cameras, your violation is not likely to be unnoticed. The majority of roads are equipped with Tutor radars that fix the time, during which cars move from one camera to another. Therefore, calculating their average speed is not difficult.

Sightseeing of Rome, Italy
Museo Criminologico is interesting in terms of the exhibits that can be found here. This includes torture and murder tools, which were used in different eras (mostly in the era of the Inquisition). Also worth mentioning is the fact that the building in which the museum is located, used to be a prison. Among other fascinating museums is Museo Hendrik Christian Andersen, where spectators will look at characters that is not their favorite characters from fairy tales, but something spicier. So here you can also see sculptural compositions, all of which contain some erotic underlying ideas with a pinch of humor, thus even the bravest person can easily blush once he got a glimpse of any sculpture. For admirers of the brilliant Leonardo da Vinci, it is worth paying a visit to the Museum named after him. Such museums dedicated to the inventor can be found in every major city in Italy, and in the capital, one can see copies of works of art by the master. By the way, the originals are located in Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence.

Forum Romanum is another historical place in the Eternal City, that brings to mind so many events that took place in the hometown of the great mathematician Enrico Fermi. However, like Pantheon, it was built in the year 126. Incidentally, a lot of historical films were shot in the capital of Italy, and one of the locations for the film “Angels & Demons” so happens to be the Pantheon. Other locations include Piazza del Popolo, the Angelica Library. It is worth noting that the already mentioned Trevi fountain was, and still is a favorite place of shooting many movies – episodes from the “Roman holiday”, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, “Madly in Love” were filmed here.
