Budapest is the European city with the greatest number of thermal springs. This place in which pools, saunas, steam baths and massage are a part of everyday life. Here some of the most known thermal springs of Budapest. Gellert Thermal Bath considers the most prestigious in the city. The fabulous building was built in the art deco style. This thermal bath enters all international tops and is considered as the most luxury in all Europe. Here also you will find two Turkish baths, one for men, another for women work. The temperature of the water is 26-38 degrees Celsius. The cost of the ticket for one day costs €12. The second one is the Kiraly Gyogyfurdo. It is located in one of the oldest buildings in Budapest. Construction has begun in the sixteenth century, during the Turkish domination. The services here include various types of massage, a sauna and a Spa procedure. Rudas Baths - are constructed during an era of the Turkish dominion, restored with preservation of original style. These eight bathrooms impress with the high columns which support a dome with a diameter of 10 meters. Here the big octagonal pool and six reservoirs of thermal energy are located. Many come to Hungary for the sake of its most valuable healing waters. But very few people know that in Budapest it is possible not only to adopt medical procedures or to swim in pools but also to practice diving. So, for example, it is possible to swim for a while on the flooded cellars of the Kőbánya mine from which extracted limestone for construction of Parliament, Buda Castle and the Citadel. At the end of the 19th century, the cave was closed. But on it, history didn't end. During World War II it served as the shelter for refugees from aggressors. Then in 1944, it was engaged in the confidential production of details for planes. After the partial flooding of branches of the mine on its base opened the brewery, it was promoted by the excellent quality of drinking water. Now the brewery doesn't function and the cave of "Kyobanya" turned into a tourist place of interest – the place for diving.
