Besides interesting restaurants and markets, Lubeck has equally original gastronomic attractions. One of these is the historic store Niederegger, the opening of which took place more than 200 years ago. It shares a building with a confectionery where the best marzipan in town is made.
The unique delicacy of almond flour is prepared according to a special old recipe. You can buy marzipan of various shapes in the store - very cute sweet figurines are made of it. In addition to marzipan, Niederegger sells nougat, caramel, gift-wrapped coffee and tea of different varieties. On the ground floor, there is a small cafe where visitors can try the most popular marzipan desserts.
Those with a sweet tooth would be interested in visiting Karlis Farm opened in the vicinity of Lübeck in 1921. This farm grows strawberries and produces a variety of sweets and drinks from berries. Many travelers come here to buy a jar of strawberry jam or try the original strawberry liquor.
A great store on-site sells chocolates with strawberries, as well as specialty teas with dried pieces of berries. The farm holds interesting tours so tourists with children are frequent guests here. Small visitors can enjoy a small zoo and creative workshops where they can learn how to prepare interesting sweets from berries on their own. This farm produces interesting handmade lollipops so everyone can watch the cooking process.
