Mannheim is a city of unique architecture and great cultural sites. During the tour through scenic streets tourists will observe the buildings of different styles and epochs. It is the second largest architectural complex in Europe executed in baroque style. During the World War II the ancient palace was partially destroyed. The oldest building of the city is considered to be the Town Hall. The city landmark water tower Wasserturm is located close to the Town Hall. Built in the 18th century the tower is considered today to be one of the city symbols. The height of the tower is 60m. The construction has miraculously escaped the ruination during the war period.

The most significant tourist attraction spot is the Kurpfalzstrasse. This is the main street of the city which neighborhood hosts a major part of entertaining establishments, shops and cultural sites. The Kurpfalzstrasse will be a perfect place for hiking. The street is crowded even late at night. Mannheim is home to one of the most beautiful squares in Europe – the Friedrichplatz. The center of the square is beset with the mentioned above water tower and a fantastic fountain with Art Nouveau statuary group in its heart is placed near the tower. For many years the Friedrichplatz serves as an established place for holding significant public events and city holidays.
