The most unusual architectural monument of the city is the Green Citadel. This original building was built by the famous architect Hundertwasser. The main feature of the building with the original asymmetrical facade is the live garden on its roof. The appearance of the Green Citadel is absolutely not associated with its name. The walls of the building are painted in bright pink color.
The tallest wooden building in Germany, called the Millennium Tower (Jahrtausendturm) is in Magdeburg. It is located in the Elbauenpark. The height of this original building is 60 meters. The tower is completely built of wood and its construction was completed in 1999. The tower was built for the opening of the next exhibition of landscape design, which took place in the park. After the exhibition, it was decided not to disassemble the construction. Now it is used for various exhibitions and cultural events, and on the top of the visitors' tower an excellent viewing platform was built.
Among the religious attractions worthy of attention, is the Walloon Church. Before, it was part of a large complex of the Augustinian Monastery. In the form in which the church can be seen now, it was built in the second half of the 14th century. It retains the original narrow windows, fragments of the old monastery yard, as well as a small tower, which was attached to the church in the 15th century.
