The most beautiful architectural landmark is the Fajtshehhajm Palace. For many years, it was the residence of bishops. Today in this beautiful palace there is an interesting museum dedicated to its former owners. The palace is surrounded by a stylish park, which is also an outstanding historical object. For the last hundred years, it has not changed at all. Now, in the park you can see many beautiful old sculptures, fountains and landscape decorations. On the territory of this park, the so-called Episkopsa Garden was preserved, in which artichokes, as well as some types of medicinal herbs, are grown.
Among the many religious attractions worthy of noting, is the St. Mary’s Chapel. The history of its construction is very tragic. In the 14th century, the epidemic of the plague hit the city. The locals considered the Jewish community as the culprits of the terrible disease. According to some historical data, the locals brutally dealt with the Jews living in the city and destroyed the synagogue, in the place of which the chapel was subsequently built. The beautiful gothic church is perfectly preserved after hundreds of years. Today, within its walls you can see beautiful old frescoes, as well as beautiful bas-reliefs with biblical motifs.
