Those who love street theaters should come to Darmstadt in early August when Just for Fun starts. The Art Nouveau central streets of the city become the stage. Here you can see a variety of theater genres - performances, drama, pantomime. Its participants are actors arriving from absolutely different parts of the world - Europe, Asia, South and North Americas. This is one of the biggest events in the life of Darmstadt, which is never missed by holidaymakers. And if you visit Darmstadt a bit earlier, you can witness the Merck-Sommerperlen open-air festival where you can listen to country music, alternative metal, indie, jazz, pop. The venue is Centralstation.
The Art Nouveau city hosts two interesting fairs apart from the Christmas one. These are the Arts and Crafts Market taking place in mid-August where, as the name suggests, you can buy all kinds of hand-made products, and the Darmstadt Autumn Fair starting in mid-September and lasting until the beginning of October. Here you can buy products of the autumn season, and for locals, this is another reason to meet friends and acquaintances and, of course, have a good time.
In late August, gourmets gather at the Wine Festival Darmstadt where, as you might guess, visitors have a chance to taste the best wines from local producers. In addition, you can try all sorts of beer snacks. Centralstation serves as the venue. We can't fail to mention Weihnachtsmarkt that opens in Darmstadt in late November and lasts until Christmas on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz, Friedensplatz, Luisenplatz and, of course, Marketplatz. The atmosphere inherent in the pre-holiday mood cannot be confused with anything else - at this time all passers-by look like fantastic characters from a Christmas fairy tale.
