For fans of an unusual holiday, in Bochum it is worth visiting the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum, which can safely be said to be one of the most unusual in the country. In this museum, visitors are invited to descend the elevator to a specially equipped mine and learn how, and in what conditions, miners work. The excursion promises to be cognitive not only for children, but also for adults. It is noteworthy that no industrial developments have ever been conducted on the site of the museum. This mine was built specifically as a demonstration mock-up, but it looks very realistic. After visitors of the museum are underground, another interesting surprise awaits visitors of the museum - they can climb to the observation deck and enjoy the panorama of the city.
There is a wonderful planetarium in the city – Carl-Zeiss Planetarium, which is also worth visiting with children. Here young visitors can admire the starry sky through powerful telescopes, see modern astronomical equipment, and listen to cognitive lectures on distant planets. The planetarium has an excellent cinema, which shows interesting films about space. More recently, the planetarium has become a permanent venue for thematic events dedicated to music.
