Brest, France: SUV and Offroad Rental Tips
The most popular SUV models offered at rental locations in Brest are: Hyundai Tuscon, Toyota Landcruiser, Suzuki Jimny, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Rav4 and others.

While selecting your preferred model of an off-road vehicle, please examine the rental conditions. In particular, those requirements that concern credit cards – when it comes to renting an expensive car, sometimes offices in France ask information about two credit cards.

Before signing the contract in the rental office upon arrival, check that the invoice figures match with figures in your voucher.

Once the vehicle is assigned, inspect it carefully before leaving the parking. Crossovers and SUVs are often used in tough road conditions, therefore scratches and other exteriour defects are inevitable. Due to this, it is important to check and specify all existing defects in your rental documents.

If you plan to use an off-road vehicle in the mountains, it is recommended to order snow chains. This will save you from unexpected incidents. Other important equipment in France are mandatory child seats for travellers with children. OrangeSmile.com wishes you a safe trip and green lights on the roads of Brest!

Driving in tunnels is allowed only with turned lower beams. According to the local regulations, all all-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended to use lower beam all the time, regardless of weather conditions, characteristics of a road and the type of a vehicle.
Tourists, who want to travel with children, should take into account a special rule that concerns the transportation of children weighing less than 13 kg. Besides the fact that they can travel only in special child seats, these seats have to be installed with their back in direction of the motion. The non-compliance of this rule will result in a fine of 135 euro.
A fine of up to 135 euro can be paid directly to a police officer. You must receive a receipt in this case. Violators, who pay a fine in the following 15 days after the fine’s issue, will get substantial “discount. If you delay the payment for more than 45 days, the fine will be increased in several times.

The unique sight of Brest is Rekuvrans Bridge - one of the biggest drawbridges in the territory of Europe which length of flights makes 87 meters. It was constructed in 1954 on a place of the former rotary bridge which was destroyed during military operations in 1944. In spite of the fact that in 2007 this bridge yielded the leading position, it does not cease to strike with the impressive scales.
One of the most beautiful architectural monuments of Brest is the House Fontana. It was constructed at a turn of 17 - 18 centuries and today it is among the oldest houses of the city, to the unusual name the house is obliged to the ancient fountain which was constructed near it in 1760. Initially this magnificent house was under construction for the local priest, and after belonged to one of talented sculptors - Iva Kohl. He independently was engaged in internal registration of the house, many unique elements of an interior remained up to the present. Today the ancient house is converted in the cultural center, poetic evenings and art exhibitions often take place in it.

In the closest vicinities of Brest is a wonderful beach Mulen-Blan which became available to rest quite recently. 20 years ago some large plants settled down in its territory and coastal waters were strongly polluted. In recent years all industrial enterprises were closed, water was cleared at the coast, and many entertaining centers were constructed near a beach.
