Turku, Finland: Hatchback Rental
The most popular models representing the mini, compact, and economy car segments in Turku are: Smart Car, Chevrolet Matiz, Kia Picanto, Citroen C1, Ford Ka, Hyundai Getz and others.

When hiring a budget hatchback, it is definitely worth saving on insurance deposit (franchise). Deposits on small cars in Finland vary from 100 to 1.000 euro/dollars. Check the rental conditions of each car in your selection to find a vehicle with a minimum deposit.

If your routes in Finland are foreseen to pass through hilly areas or mountains, it is not recommended to consider very small cars for rental. Their engines are usually insufficient for a confident driving on the roads with long or steep climbs.

At the rental office in Turku, consider to take a 'Breakdown Assistance' package or ask an officer for a contact data to use in case of a vehicle breakdown. Cheap cars are sometimes unpredictable in operation.

Upon receipt of the rental invoice, please check that all the information, as well as the final payment amount do match the data in your voucher.

Driving Advices for Finland – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Drivers, who prefer to save on parking, will find no problem finding a free parking lot. There are free parking lots next to all supermarkets, but there may be no free spaces in the “rush hour”.
Local drivers have much respect for pedestrians. Foreign visitors should also follow their example. It is important to stop in front of a pedestrian crossing and wait until the road is free. Given that in some cities pedestrian crossings can be made every 50 meters, drivers really have to show a lot of patience.
The majority of Finnish cities have rather narrow roads, but there are not only many cars on them, but also large buses. While driving, in no way should car drivers try to overtake buses. It the bus has stopped, all the cars behind it also need to stop.
