While walking through the city you can see many interesting modern monuments. An unusual one is the Wedding Tree, which is a beautiful 3 meter high forged sculpture. The locals have a wonderful tradition: on the wedding day, newlyweds attach small leaves with engraved names to this metal tree.
Many of the city's monuments are dedicated to the difficult times of World War II.
In the vicinity of Narva, you can find an old German cemetery founded in 1943 where the dead German soldiers are buried. In total, more than 4,000 people were buried in this place, but after the war, the cemetery was liquidated. It was decided to restore it only in 1995, and now the old cemetery is a valuable memorial complex. The historic cemetery is located in a very picturesque suburban area.
