Tourists, who come to the city, are offered to try a large choice of activities including water sports, golf, riding rented bicycles and small motorcycles, or just walking in the city’s suburbs. Among the main attractions of Silkeborg the most significant are Museum of Art, which exhibits a collection of works of the great artist Asger Jorn; Silkeborg museum, which exhibits two ancient human bodies - a female one, preserved from 210 BC, and a male 2200-yearold body famous as Man of Tollunda. Here you will also find a special exhibit of old Danish glass, ancient jewelry and artifacts from the ruins of Silkeborg Castle, a collection of stone tools, as well as the most tremendous freshwater aquarium in Northern Europe.
Silkeborg is famous for its festivals. One of them is Jazz Festival, which takes place every year and lasts four days. During these days the city is full of music that can be heard from the depths of the concert hall while walking down the street from the restaurant or just sitting on the meadows in the park. There is also a famous fireworks festival that is held every three years starting from 1899.
