Just outside the city, there is an archaeological site where the Temple of Apollo was once located. The place is fascinating with its antiquity and scale. The shrine can be found near the already mentioned Kourion. A peculiar local attraction is a giant oak growing near Lania Village. The majestic tree impresses all tourists - knowing that it is more than 800 years old, people come to indescribable delight from touching such an antique thing. Limassol Water Tower erected in 1931 deserves special mention. It is remarkable for being the former tallest building in the city. Today, the tower is just a great landmark - it is clearly visible from almost anywhere in Limassol.
Limassol has many interesting religious attractions, each building is a masterpiece of sacred architecture. These include Ayia Napa Church (Αγία Νάπα) striking with its atmosphere. However, it is even more noteworthy for its architecture and interior decoration. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the building has replaced another shrine that existed here since the middle of the 18th century. Exquisite Byzantine was chosen as the style of the new church. Distinctive features fascinating all travelers with their beauty are two high snow-white towers, as well as white marble sculptures located in the courtyard.
