The unique water plants Sueda grow in the river delta in the late spring and have quite ordinary green color. When the aquatic plants begin to die, their color changes and the surrounding landscapes become scarlet. The largest part of the unique Red Beach is inaccessible to visitors and is protected by the state. For the numerous tourists a small part of the nature reserve was opened, which was equipped with the special small wooden bridges and viewing platforms. Some comfortable cottages are at the disposal of the travelers who want to spend a few days in this strange terrain.
The Red Beach is the unique ecosystem. There are 236 bird species, including the rare Japanese cranes, as well as about 30 bird species protected by the state. Most tourists visit the Red Beach in September. Many guests of the nature reserve walk on the small wooden bridges and book the helicopter excursions. The followers of the unusual excursions have an excellent opportunity to look at the strange beach from the bird's perspective and to appreciate its impressive size.
