Australia is rich in amazing paleontological discoveries. During one of the expeditions, bones of the upper limb of a dinosaur were discovered on the coast of Victoria. That part could only belong to a single specie of ancient reptiles, megaraptor. The uniqueness of the discovery resides in the fact that earlier remains of these large carnivorous dinosaurs could be detected only in South America, in Argentina. This confirms the assumption that once the two southern hemisphere continents were connected.
Later a bone of one of the tyrannosaurus was found on this coast, which seems to be rich in archaeological artifacts. This event gave start to a number of important scientific discoveries. Previously, scientists believed that the tyrannosaurus lived only in the northern hemisphere. The Australian discovery disproved this theory. T.Rex species, which lived in Australia, were much smaller than their northern relatives. They were less than 3 meters high and weighed about 80 kg. The tyrannosaurus that lived in the northern hemisphere, could reach 12 meters in height, and the average weight of individuals was about 4 tons.
