Not infrequently, this city is referred to as the capital of the world space industry. It is also known as the Bayou city, as it was founded by brothers Augustus and John Allen in 1836 on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. The city is located in the southeast of Texas, and it was named after Sam Houston, the famous Texas Army General, to who all Texans owe their independence from Mexico.

It took less than a year for the city to become the capital of the Republic of Texas. However, in 1840 the city handed its status over to Austin. The republic's life span turned out to be small, since in 1845 it was incorporated into the Union. However, unlike other states, this one has the right to withdraw any time, and it is permitted by the constitution.

Huston combines the urbanity of a modern metropolis with the divine and natural tranquility of a rural town. Its high-rise downtown area neighbors wonderfully on its lakes and streams concealed in dense vegetation.
