The ancient tower Castillo de las Coloradas built in the beginning of the 18th century is the symbol of the town. Initially this protective facility was designed as a protection against pirates; today the fortress is depicted on the emblem of Playa Blanca. The resort has become very popular among diving fans. The underwater visibility reaches 20 meters here. This fact allows observing the splendor of the underwater world in all details.
