Inestimable historical landmarks and monuments of Malaga attract travelers from all over the world. An ancient fortress named La Alcazaba is set on the top of one of the high hills. The first strengthening structures were on the place of the fortress as far back as in the 11th century. Later the construction was expanded and added with new structures. The construction of the fortress which travelers may observe nowadays was finished in the 13th century. Today the walls of the fortress host the Military Museum Malaga which is among the largest in the country.
After the museum exploration the travelers may walk along massive strengthening walls and enjoy the panoramic views of the city. The same impressive defense construction is the Castillo de Gibralfaro. The castle was established in the 14th century. The medieval defense construction witnessed numerous significant historical events. The castle was not preserved in its state of nature till nowadays. Today the travelers may observe only a few of the towers surrounded with the eucalyptus forest.
