Acantilado de los Gigantes topics
Los Gigantes is a town located on the west coast of one of the Canary Islands - Tenerife. The landscape of this region is quite unusual as the town occupies a flat part of the coast. This surprisingly flat area is located at the foot of giant rock formations also named Los Gigantes. Actually the name of the city comes from the name of these rocks. These majestic cliffs are also known as the highest cliffs in whole Europe and this fact is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records. The rocks rise approximately 800 meters above the sea level, forming a large public swimming pool with a haven and beaches with volcanic sand.
Los Gigantes is a truly exotic destination great for holiday rest. The only problem here is the size of the resort as it is not able to accommodate a large number of tourists. On the other hand, because of this fact it is always very calm in Los Gigantes. A quiet bay of Los Gigantes is a wonderful and amazing place. Here it is even possible to see whales and pairs of dolphins. A sea boat trip is one of the popular entertainment services offered for tourists. This ride will definitely leave only positive memories for visitors of Los Gigantes, as they are able to see magnificent marine animals in close proximity, and if they decide to sail a bit deeper into the sea, they will enjoy a panoramic view of the city with its majestic cliffs and the peak of the Teide volcano that can be seen behind the mountains.
