Vlad Dracula was the first to mention Bucharest in documents back in 1459. The well-known book about Dracula is based upon his character. Dracula ruled the Wallanchia State in Romania several years after. He was cruel and unforgiving and tortured his enemies on stakes till they died in pain, Dracula was named 'Vlad the Impaler' because of that. For some people living in the country he is still somewhat like a national hero and a very respected person due to his belonging to the noblest families of Romania. If you want to visit the Palace of Dracula, you can go to the Old Bucharest, where people make money out of the name of Dracula, running shows in clubs and dancefloors opened in the former palace.
