Briefly about Bucharest, Romania
Vlad Dracula was the first to mention Bucharest in documents back in 1459. The well-known book about Dracula is based upon his character. Dracula ruled the Wallanchia State in Romania several years after. He was cruel and unforgiving and tortured his enemies on stakes till they died in pain, Dracula was named 'Vlad the Impaler' because of that. For some people living in the country he is still somewhat like a national hero and a very respected person due to his belonging to the noblest families of Romania. If you want to visit the Palace of Dracula, you can go to the Old Bucharest, where people make money out of the name of Dracula, running shows in clubs and dancefloors opened in the former palace.

The Turkish war was over, but there still were conflicts in Bucharest. It was on fire in 1595, then Bucharest got in the midst of the war between Russia, Austria and Ottomans. During the conflict the city was ruined by the occupants and it's terrible condition lasted till 1862. That was the year when Bucharest finally became the capitol of the country.
