Hassan II Mosque is located on a high hill not far away from the coastline. This is the most important religious object of Casablanca. The height of the minaret of the mosque is 200 meters. It is considered the highest one in the world and can be seen from any part of the city. The construction of the beautiful mosque was completed quite recently, in 1993. The prayer hall of the mosque can accommodate up to 25,000 visitors at a time. The mosque is distinguished by luxurious interior decoration. It’s really hard to find such a rich choice of ornaments and unique decorative elements in any other mosque.
Numerous wonderful markets are known as the main attraction of Habous district. There are markets literally in every street. Market is a place where visitors can purchase not only fresh fruits and vegetables, but also antiques. For many local residents markets have become a favorite place of rest. These are the places where they meet their friends and hear the latest news. The tomb of Sidi Abderrahman is also an important attraction. Sidi Abderrahman was a local hermit who was famous for his amazing gift to heal people even from the most complex diseases. Even today hundreds of pilgrims come to his grave, hoping for a miracle cure. Among other places of interest tourists are usually recommended to visit Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, which was completed in the middle of the 20th century. It is a beautiful architectural attraction, the main distinctive feature of which is huge stained glass windows.
