Shopping. Luxembourg is a wonderful place to do some shopping. The most part of the city is a pedestrian zone, which of course makes shopping even more pleasant. Bridge of Adolf. Bridge of Adolf, a well-known Luxembourg arched bridge named after Grand Duke Adolf I of Luxembourg, is a national symbol of Grand Duchy Luxembourg. It was unveiled in 1903 and for those times it was the biggest stone bridge in the world. The bridge is more than a hundred years old, but the natives still call it 'the new bridge'. Under the bridge the river Pétrusse flows. Bridge of Adolf connects Boulevard Royal in upper part of the city (Ville Haute) and Avenue de la Liberte in the Gare.
