It's only 29 kilometers far from Klaipeda. Palanga is situated at the coast of the Baltic Sea and has very good climatic conditions. It can offer you many cozy beaches, where it's so pleasant to watch sunsets. The first people appeared on the place of Palanga in 3rd or 2nd millennium B C. The first mention that was made of Palanga dates back to 1161. In the Middle Age the city served as the port center of Lithuania. In the beginning of the 18th century (1710) the Swedish almost completely ruined it. But since the 19th century the famous resort was created here and Palanga got new life.
Palanga is located along the Baltic Sea coast and a great number of parks, cafes and simply residence houses can boast of the marvelous view on the sea. Every year from May to September thousands of tourists come to this sunniest city in the country to spend their vacations.
