We suggest starting your observation of the city by visiting the Old City of Klaipeda. Here you will find old houses decorated with brushwood of northern grape. Numerous architectural facilities will remind you of pictures from fairytales, because tiny houses with tiled roofs surrounded by bright flower beds look very unusual for a modern tourist. The streets of the Old City are twisting and it’s easy to get lost here, so it’s better to make your first walk in Klaipeda together with a guide. Here you will see Simon Dach Fountain and another permanent symbol of the city – Anika from Torava sculpture. Anika is a character of the old Lithuanian song.

Besides walking on magnificent streets of the city we recommend visiting Museum of Clocks. Here you will see collections of various items that have been used by our predecessors to measure time. These mechanisms have almost nothing in common with the watches used by modern people. You may be really surprised to know there are water and fire clocks, while widest selection of sand and sun chronometers will expand your knowledge about the types of clocks and their manufacturing. Blacksmithing Museum is one more famous cultural facility of the city. Here you will be able to see the collections of massive fences and church crosses, as well as miniature candlesticks and jewelry.
