Piemonte is known to travelers as the location of major ski centers, the old wine-growing region and a unique cultural center. It is famous for its rich historical heritage and all travelers definitely have to get acquainted with it. The ancient city of Alessandria attracts fans of excursions, as a huge number of monuments of 12th-15th centuries have survived there. Biella has a world-class tourist attraction; we are talking about the unique complex of Sacro Monte di Oropa. Built in the early 17th century, it includes 12 chapels. Famous religious monuments, including the Cathedral of St. Eusebius are situated in Vercelli. The first religious building on its place was built in the 4th century. Today, the part of the old cathedral houses a library. Its collection is comparable to exposures of major museums; it includes unique manuscripts and copies of religious books.
