The central street of Dublin is called O'Connell Street. This is home to numerous popular restaurants and bars. At night discos and night clubs are open and wait for their visitors. Temple Bar is known as the oldest region of the city. Tourists traditionally enjoy walking on its cozy shadowy streets, looking at houses that look very unusual for modern people. The main sight of Dublin is St Patrick's Cathedral that can be seen on the central square of Dublin. Many centuries ago here lived Saint Patrick. He organized christening of the locals and so many people gathered on the square to pray or to sanctify icons. Among interesting and memorable places in Dublin we should definitely mention Ely Place, Marriott Square, and Fitzwilliam Square. Many memorable obelisks are installed on these squares. Dublin Palace is the oldest building in the city. In was built in the 12th century. For a long time the palace was used as a summer residence of Irish kings. Later the palace was used as the residence of the British administration.
