The main Dublin’s attractions include the Temple Bar, the early medieval Christchurch Cathedral (the oldest building in the city), Phoenix Park (the largest urban park in Europe), the National Museum of Ireland and the National Gallery of Ireland. Dublin is also famous for its literary tradition. It has been home to many well-known writers such as Jonathan Swift, James Joyce and William Butler Yeats.

In this century Dublin doesn’t rest on the laurels of its rich cultural heritage. Alongside the smoky old bars, the historical museums and the folk music in the pubs, there is a new Dublin of vibrant night clubs, designer shops and young people - an image that is being promoted by popular musicians like U2, Westlife and the Corrs.

Dublin has a reputation of one the most youthful cities in Europe. It is estimated that about 50% of its inhabitants are younger than 25. Dublin’s streets and parks are full of young professionals who enjoy the summer, while during the winter they prefer spending their free time in bars.
