The central part of the city is decorated by Rashtrapati Bhavan Palace, which was built in 1929. Today it is the residence of the President and one of the most spectacular buildings of the 20th century. One of the most important religious places of interest is Birla Mandir temple, a building of great beauty.

Among the historical monuments we should mention Humayun's Tomb, which was founded in honor of the most famous and revered emperor of Delhi. The mausoleum is the location of his tomb, which has strikingly luxurious interior. While walking down the street Ashoka Road, you can go to another famous temple which is called Bangla Gurudvara. The temple is decorated with amazing golden cupolas; the shrine is open for visitors representing all religions of the world.
