In the lights of multi-colored spotlights the statue of Indian deity looks even more impressive. Bangalore is home to one of the oldest temples of the country - Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple. The main decoration of the temple is a statue of Nandi, the sacred bull. The height of the statue estimates 4.5 meters. There is an interesting legend associated with this ancient temple. The local residents decided to make a building in order to achieve the mercy of the greedy bull that had been threatening to destroy the city. Once the construction of the temple was completed, the bull left Bangalore. For many centuries the local residents of the city have been conducting memorable festivals in honor of that memorable event.
